INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT

The room is decorated with science charts, books, and a poster of Einstein.

STEVEN STUART, 11, wearing goggles, works on a homemade device constructed of a cardboard box, colored wires, batteries and computer components.

MOTHER'S VOICE
It's time for bed, Steven.

STEVEN
I want everything to go perfect for the science fair.

His door opens and MOTHER, smiling, but concerned, looks in.

MOTHER
Did you take your medicine?

Steven continues to work and nods.

MOTHER (cont'd)
I love you.

STEVEN
Love you too.

She closes the door. Steven sits in the box and types on a small computer. With a deep breath, he presses a button.

Lights flash. Beeps sound. The desk, bed, and walls slowly melt as Steven looks around in wonder.

STEVEN
Yes.

A blinding flash of light fills the room.

INT. CAVE - NIGHT

A large DRAGON SNORTS and PUFFS FIRE. Steven, cardboard box and all, materializes before the Dragon.

It snorts and Steven screams. The box catches fire. Steven rolls out. The Dragon flees.

OTTO, 13, dressed in armor, carrying a sword, rushes after the Dragon but stops.

OTTO
Dude. You chased it away.
